Hurricane Ivan, downgraded to a tropical depression, hit Stony Valley with a deluge of rain in the overnight hours of the 17th & 18th of September 2004. These photos show some of the damage done by Ivan.

You could distinctly see where the high waters had run by the matted down ferns and grasses, exposed roots, scoured rocks, areas swept clear, and natural debris pushed up against tree trunks - some hanging a good three feet off the ground.

seeSAW > In one area where the Stony usually runs shallow, I was surprised to step on an 8" fish left high and dry at least 40 feet from the stream bank!
